In fact, there is no absolute better or worse. They suit different application requirements.
201 has a low nickel content, while 430 contains almost no nickel and relies mainly on chromium for corrosion resistance. Both are low-cost options, and their anti-rust performance is not comparable to 304.
201 is easy to stamp, weld and stretch, commonly used in indoor decoration such as doors, windows, railings, and hardware accessories.
430 has better thermal conductivity than 201 but higher hardness, so it is mostly used for simply formed parts like stove components and home appliance shells.
If the application environment is humid and corrosive, 201 is preferred.
On the contrary, if strength and heat resistance are priorities, 430 is more cost-effective.
